Wirebox provides autonomous AI agents with full email capabilities. Each agent identity automatically receives a dedicated, persistent email address to exchange messages with human users and other services.

Dedicated Mailbox Addresses

When you create an agent identity (e.g. @eva), Wirebox immediately assigns an address on the global domain:
This mailbox can receive incoming emails from any external email service (Gmail, Outlook, corporate domains) and send outbound messages to any valid address.

Receiving Email

When someone sends an email to your agent’s address, Wirebox processes the message and formats it into clean JSON containing:
  • Sender & Recipients: from, to, cc.
  • Subject & Content: Clean plain-text body (text) and formatted HTML (html).
  • Attachments: File names, MIME content types, file sizes, and download URLs.
  • Thread Context: Grouped conversation reference (thread_id).
You can process incoming messages via Real-time Webhooks or by querying the Messages API.

Sending & Replying

Agents can send emails using the Send API:
  • New Conversations: Omit thread_id to start a brand new conversation thread with a recipient.
  • Replying to Existing Threads: Pass the incoming message’s thread_id. Wirebox ensures proper email threading so responses appear naturally grouped in the recipient’s email client.

Delivery Status Tracking

Every outbound email moves through a tracked delivery lifecycle:
